SENIX 22 Inch Variable Rear Wheel Review

The SENIX 22 inch 201cc variable speed at $439.99 is a rear wheel drive self-propelled gas mower with 4.0 stars from 551 ratings and a 2 year warranty stated in the bullets. Buyers who want a warranty length in writing may prefer it, and the catch is that SENIX sells what appears to be the same mower on another listing for $359.10.

The verdict

The same mower on a different shelf

SENIX lists this 22 inch 201cc variable speed rear wheel drive mower at $439.99. SENIX also lists a 22 inch 201cc variable speed rear wheel drive mower at $359.10 on a different Amazon page.

Side by side, the published specs match. Same deck width, same engine, same drive type, same 3-in-1 cutting, same 6 cutting positions. The footprints agree within a tenth of an inch, at 37.4 by 23.6 by 15.8 inches here and 37 by 23.5 by 15.8 inches there.

Two things differ. The price, by $80.89. And the listed weight, 64 lbs here against 79 lbs on the cheaper page, which identical dimensions cannot explain. One of those two weights is wrong.

What you genuinely get for the extra money is a warranty length in writing. The bullets here promise a 2 year warranty for worry free after sales support. The cheaper listing says nothing about warranty at all, and neither do seven of the other mowers in our ten. Whether that is worth $80.89 is a judgment call, and it is the only argument for this listing.

A listing that cannot agree with itself

The title sells a 22 inch mower. Bullet four says a 22 inch cutting width provides faster cuts. Bullet two opens by calling it a 21 inch lawnmower with a three in one steel chassis. The Amazon spec block says 22 inches.

Copy pasted bullets are endemic to this category and they are a fair warning about how much attention the rest of the listing deserves. The deck is 22 inches wide. The 21 inch sentence came from a different product page.

An owner who did our homework for us

B. W. Mongoose gave the mower 4 stars on 8 Jul 2026, and 12 people found his review helpful. He explains he probably should give it 5 stars but cannot, because of two issues, one important and one he admits is nitpicking.

Before getting to either, he makes the point that matters most. He noticed that the reviews of all SENIX models are lumped into the same review thread on Amazon, and that from the reviews he has read, each model is obviously very different. His stated complaint is that the height adjustments are lacking.

He is right about the pooling. The 551 ratings cover four mowers: this 22 inch 201cc, two different 20 inch 144cc versions, and a 21 inch 170cc.

Arriving bent

Three of the reviews on this listing describe a mower that needed work before it could be used.

Miles, 3 stars on 25 Jun 2026, says it could not be used out of the box even if he had gas and oil ready, because he had to carry out repairs to straighten bent parts. The height adjustment lever for the rear tires was twisted, and removing the tire and the lever screws was aggravating because of the tight gap between the wheel and its housing. He ended up using a plastic weld to free a part.

Vickie, 1 star on 28 May 2026 with 25 helpful votes, titles her review a warning to stay away from SENIX. Her good points are that it arrives almost completely assembled with the motor oil included, and that it is a pretty blue. After that she had difficulty starting it from the beginning, needing multiple pulls that took a lot of strength because the cord seemed to keep getting stuck.

Against that, Joni Prater, 5 stars on 20 Aug 2026, found it easy to put together once she tracked down the company website, because the print on the paper instructions was too small for her to read. A professional user on 26 Sep 2026 calls it a beast, says he does this for a living and likes the performance, and notes the drive takes a little getting used to and could pull a little stronger.

Who should buy it

Buyers who want a 2 year warranty written down, and anybody who finds the cheaper SENIX listing out of stock. The mower itself is good at $359.10 and overpriced at $439.99.

Questions people ask

Is this the same mower as the SENIX at $359.10?

We cannot find a published difference. Both are 22 inch, 201cc OHV, variable speed, rear wheel drive, 3-in-1 with 6 cutting positions, and the footprints match within a tenth of an inch. The only differences on paper are the price, a stated 2 year warranty here, and the listed weight, 64 lbs against 79 lbs, which the identical dimensions do not support. Buy whichever is cheaper.

Is it a 21 inch or a 22 inch mower?

22 inch. The title says 22 inch and one bullet says a 22 inch cutting width gives faster cuts, but a second bullet calls it a 21 inch lawnmower. The spec block says 22 inches. Treat the 21 inch mention as a copy and paste error from another listing.

What does the 551 rating count cover?

Four versions: this 22 inch 201cc, a 20 inch 144cc at $199.98, another 20 inch 144cc with five cutting heights, and a 21 inch 170cc at $342.44. B. W. Mongoose, 4 stars on 8 Jul 2026, spotted this himself and writes that the reviews of all SENIX models are lumped into the same review thread while each model is obviously very different.

Do mowers arrive damaged?

Some do. Miles, 3 stars on 25 Jun 2026, says it could not be used out of the box even with gas and oil ready, because he had to straighten bent parts, and that the rear height adjustment lever was twisted and awkward to remove. Vickie, 1 star on 28 May 2026 with 25 helpful votes, had difficulty starting hers from the beginning and reports the pull cord kept getting stuck.

How long do these engines last?

Steven H. gives the most useful data point, a 5 star review on 17 Sep 2026. He bought one three years earlier, admits he never did any maintenance at all, and it served him well until he hit a hidden concrete block in deep weeds. The engine stopped dead, restarted, then vibrated badly and blew oil out of the fill hole. Three years with no servicing is better than this category gets credit for.
