Husqvarna TS 120 Review

Why a 5.0 Star Rating Can Mean Almost Nothing

The Husqvarna TS 120 is a 42 inch lawn tractor with a 19 HP Briggs engine, listed at $2,899.00 and showing 5.0 stars from 4 ratings. Buyers with one to two acres and a tight budget are who it suits, and the catch is that the same mower at Tractor Supply shows 3.2 stars from 49 ratings at the same price.

The verdict

A perfect rating built on four people

Amazon shows the Husqvarna TS 120 at 5.0 stars. Four ratings sit behind that number, and only two of the four wrote anything.

Jay, 5 stars on 7 Mar 2026 in a review 8 people found helpful, reports it came in great condition, says the crate was tough to get the mower out of but he got it done, and notes he was surprised the real manual was online only. Santiago Castro, 5 stars on 5 Oct 2026, wrote “Very good lawnmover” and nothing else.

Now the comparison that matters. Google’s shopping results on 28 Oct 2026 list the same Husqvarna TS 120 at Tractor Supply for $2,899.99, showing 3.2 stars from 49 ratings. Same mower, same money, twelve times the sample, and 1.8 stars lower.

Neither figure is a lie. The Amazon four are real buyers who are happy. Forty-nine buyers is simply a better guide to what happens when a few hundred of these go out, and the honest reading is that the TS 120 is a middling lawn tractor rather than a perfect one.

What you get for $2,899.00

Husqvarna fits a 19 HP Briggs and Stratton 540cc engine and a 42 inch twin blade stamped deck. The transmission is pedal-operated, so both hands stay on the wheel.

Among the four riding mowers on Amazon with a review base, that makes the TS 120 the cheapest and the smallest. $700.00 more buys the TS 140X with a 48 inch deck and a 24 HP V-twin, and $1,000.00 more buys the Z254F with a 54 inch deck and a zero turn.

A 42 inch deck is not only a compromise. Narrow decks fit through side gates, thread between trees and turn inside a flower bed, which a 54 inch zero turn will never do. One to two acres with obstacles is a genuinely good fit for this machine.

Getting it out of the crate

Jay’s warning about the crate is the one practical thing the Amazon reviews offer, and it is worth planning for. A lawn tractor arrives bolted to a pallet inside a timber frame, and getting a 42 inch machine out needs tools, space and ideally a second person.

Nothing on this listing gives a weight, so there is no official figure to plan the lift around. For scale, the Z254F on a neighboring listing states 595 lbs.

Owners of the other two Husqvarna listings all mention the seller arranging the freight and calling ahead. BrandNewEngines, Inc sells this one, a different company, so those reports do not carry across. The listing is marked non-returnable, as every freight mower here is.

What the listing gets wrong

Three specs are missing: weight, cutting heights and warranty length. Nothing states whether a bagger or mulching kit is included.

Two entries are plainly wrong. The color reads “Organe” in the spec block. The product dimensions read 72 by 48 by 48 inches, which is exactly what the 48 inch TS 140X lists, and a 42 inch deck cannot be as wide as a 48 inch one. Spec blocks on these freight listings are filled in by sellers, not by Husqvarna, and errors like that are the tell.

Who should buy it

One to two acres, a Husqvarna badge wanted, and $2,899.00 as the ceiling. On those terms the TS 120 is a reasonable buy, as long as the Tractor Supply reviews get read first.

Anyone whose decision rests on the 5.0 stars should stop there. Four ratings cannot carry a decision this size, and the larger sample next door tells a different story.

Buy it if

You have one to two acres, you want a Husqvarna lawn tractor for the least money, and you have read the Tractor Supply reviews of the same machine before deciding.

Skip it if

You are relying on the 5.0 star rating. Four ratings cannot carry a $2,899.00 decision, and a bigger sample elsewhere disagrees with them.

Questions people ask

Is the Husqvarna TS 120 really a 5.0 star mower?

Four people rated it five stars on Amazon, which is not the same thing. Google's shopping results on 28 Oct 2026 showed the same TS 120 at Tractor Supply for $2,899.99 with 3.2 stars from 49 ratings. Twelve times the sample and 1.8 stars lower. Neither number is dishonest, and the bigger one is the one to plan around.

What do the Amazon reviews of the TS 120 actually say?

Two of the four ratings carry written reviews. Jay, 5 stars on 7 Mar 2026 in a review 8 people found helpful, says it came in great condition, the crate was tough to get the mower out of but he managed, and the manual was only online. Santiago Castro, 5 stars on 5 Oct 2026, wrote three words: very good lawnmower.

Who sells the TS 120 on Amazon?

BrandNewEngines, Inc ships it and handles the support, which is a different third party from the one selling the TS 140X and the Z254F. The listing is marked non-returnable. Being handled by a different seller means the delivery reports from the other two Husqvarna listings do not transfer to this one.

How much lawn will a 42 inch 19 HP tractor handle?

One to two acres is the sensible range. A 42 inch deck needs about a quarter more passes than a 48 inch deck, and 19 HP on a single cylinder has less in reserve than the 24 HP V-twin on the TS 140X. Past two acres the extra $700.00 for the wider machine buys back time every week.

What is wrong with the TS 120 listing?

Several things are missing and one is wrong. No weight, no cutting height range, no warranty length, nothing on bagging or mulching. The color is spelled Organe in the spec block. The stated dimensions of 72 by 48 by 48 inches are identical to those listed for the 48 inch TS 140X, which cannot be true of both.
