Sunseeker X3 Plus Review

The Lightest Robot Mower, and the Cheapest Per Acre

The Sunseeker X3 Plus is a 19.93 lb robot mower rated for 0.3 acres, or 13,000 sq ft, at $753.29, which is the most coverage per dollar in our ten. Owners like the cut and the price, and the recurring complaint is software, including a satellite that one owner says regularly fails to calibrate.

The verdict

Coverage per dollar is the cleanest way to compare robot mowers, and by that measure the Sunseeker X3 Plus wins our ten outright. Rated for 0.3 acres at $753.29, it covers more than twice the ground of the Segway Navimow i105N for about $84.00 more.

At 4.1 stars from 54 ratings it also has the thinnest evidence base on this page, and what the reviews say is worth reading closely.

What the money buys

The listing gives coverage two ways, 0.3 acres and 13,000 sq ft, and the figures agree, which is more than can be said for some listings in this category. Navigation combines RTK with VSLAM, a camera based positioning system, and boundaries are virtual, set in the app rather than by burying wire.

At 19.93 lbs the X3 Plus is the lightest machine in our ten. Lifting it over a step or carrying it to a side lawn is easy, which matters more than buyers expect on a mower that will need rescuing sometimes.

Sunseeker also markets efficient edge cutting, which is a sore point across the category. The Mammotion LUBA 3, at three and a half times the price, draws complaints for stopping short of borders.

Software is the weak point

Mike Burnham, on 14 October 2025, rated the X3 Plus one star and his review is the sharpest criticism on the listing. He says he cannot express how terrible the software is, that despite following the directions exactly it always finds some way to fail, and he gives what he calls an incomplete list of problems. Two are concrete: the satellite regularly fails to calibrate, and the robot regularly gets stuck.

Satellite calibration trouble is the single most common complaint across every RTK machine in our ten, so his experience is not unusual for the technology. Owners on open ground with a clear sky view report far fewer problems than owners under trees.

Against that, Kathleen Phillips rates it five stars as great value, and Gregory Stump calls it sharp and inexpensive. With 54 ratings there is no way to tell which experience is typical, and buyers deserve to know that rather than be sold a false confidence.

Blades, and a saving worth knowing

J.B., writing on 30 June 2026, gives a practical three star review. The mower works just fine, he says, but Sunseeker charges $60.00 for 10 replacement blades, which he finds unacceptable. His alternative is 30 generic blades for $15.00, and he reports they work just as well.

Running the numbers, that is $6.00 a blade against $0.50. Robot mower blades are small flat razors and they get changed often, so the saving across a season is real. Worth factoring into any robot mower purchase, because blade pricing varies wildly between brands and nobody publishes it on the listing.

Read the review labels

One review on this listing is a good lesson in how to read robot mower ratings. John, on 23 May 2026, gives four stars under the set label X5&X7 Garage, and his review is about a garage for the Sunseeker Orion X7. He explains you need Sunseeker to send a QR code sticker because the mounted code sits too tall for the garage.

Useful information, and nothing to do with the X3 Plus. Amazon pools reviews across product sets, so part of this mower average belongs to an accessory for a different mower. Check the set label on each review before you let it sway you.

Who should buy it

Owners of up to 0.3 acres of open, sunny lawn who want maximum rated coverage for the least money and are willing to work through the setup. On the right lawn no other mower here covers as much ground for the price.

Anyone who wants to buy once and forget about it should look at the Mammotion LUBA mini 2, where owner reports on setup and navigation are much calmer, for $1,799.00.

Questions people ask

What does the Sunseeker X3 Plus cover?

Sunseeker rates it for 0.3 acres, which the listing also gives as 13,000 sq ft. At $753.29 that is more rated coverage per dollar than anything else we looked at, including machines costing three times as much.

Are the replacement blades expensive?

Sunseeker blades are, and you do not have to buy them. J.B., writing on 30 June 2026, says the mower works just fine but $60.00 for 10 Sunseeker blades is unacceptable, and that 30 generic blades for $15.00 work just as well. He rated it three stars on that basis alone.

How reliable is the navigation?

Mixed, and one owner is scathing. Mike Burnham, on 14 October 2025, rated it one star and lists the satellite regularly failing to calibrate and the robot regularly getting stuck among an incomplete list of problems.

How heavy is it?

19.93 lbs, the lightest robot mower in our ten and less than a third the weight of the Mammotion LUBA 3. Light enough to carry one handed between lawns.

Why are only some of the 54 reviews about this mower?

Because Amazon pools them across bundles. A four star review from John on 23 May 2026 on this listing is labelled Set name X5&X7 Garage and discusses a garage for the Sunseeker Orion X7, a different mower. Read the set label on each review before weighing it.
