DREAME LiDAR 3500 Review

Big Coverage, and Blades With No Lift

The DREAME LiDAR 3500 A3 AWD Pro is a 15.8 inch four wheel drive robot mower rated for 0.87 acres with no RTK at all, so tree cover cannot cost it a signal. One owner calls it an outstanding upgrade from an RTK machine, and another rated it one star over setup and cut quality.

The verdict

DREAME is better known for robot vacuums, and the A3 AWD Pro brings that background to the lawn. Navigation uses LiDAR and two cameras with no RTK at all, which is the headline feature and the reason to consider it over a cheaper machine.

Rated 4.2 stars from 120 ratings at $2,599.99, the reviews split more sharply here than on any other mower in our ten.

Why no RTK is the selling point

RTK needs a fixed antenna with a clear view of the sky, and mature trees break that. Owners of satellite guided machines across this category report calibration failures and dropped signals, often after weeks of back and forth with support.

gjford, writing on 12 July 2026, came to the A3 after a premium non LiDAR mower managed what he calls minimal success. His property has multiple raised garden beds, curved landscape borders and mature trees, and he was skeptical any robot could handle it. Five stars, and he describes the change as an outstanding upgrade from an RTK based mower.

For a wooded lot, that is the whole argument. No antenna, no sky, no problem.

The one star review deserves reading in full

CLib, on 6 May 2026, titled his review around the mower being for really early adopters only, and his two specific complaints are the most useful criticism we found in this category.

First, setup. He says videos from happy buyers show the mower working perfectly on perfect lawns, and leave out the time and effort needed to get it working reasonably well on lawns that include trees, shrubbery, weeds, irregular perimeters and bumpy surfaces. Which, as he puts it, is the kind of lawn people really have.

Second, and more important, the cut. He reports the mower rolls over tall weeds and dandelions because the tiny cutting blades underneath have no lift, and that it throws cut grass out the back.

No lift is a real limitation and applies to every robot mower, not just this one. A push mower uses a curved blade and a sealed deck to create suction that stands grass up before cutting it. Robot mowers use small spinning razors with no deck suction at all. Anything flexible enough to lie down under the machine will survive the pass.

A middle view

flint350, on 30 June 2026, bought direct from DreameTech during pre order and rated it three stars. His hardware experience was good, including the extra blades, cleaning tools and parking garage DREAME promised. The trouble started with the mapping app and getting it to understand his yard. His rear lawn, fully enclosed, gave no problems at all.

A pattern runs through all three accounts. Enclosed, tidy, well kept lawns go well. Open, irregular, weedy lawns go badly.

Coverage and the weight question

DREAME rates the A3 AWD Pro for 0.87 acres at 8,611 sq ft per hour, so a full cut is four and a half hours or so across charges. Cutting width is 15.75 inches on two discs, cutting height runs 1 to 4 inches, and slopes are rated at 38.7 degrees on four driven wheels.

One spec on the listing cannot be right. Item weight is given as 26.4 lbs, which is less than half what the comparable Mammotion LUBA 3 weighs with a similar deck. We have flagged that field rather than print a figure we cannot verify, and the same caution applies to anything else on a robot mower spec sheet.

Who should buy it

Owners of up to 0.87 acres under heavy tree cover, where RTK would never work and a wire would be a nightmare to lay. On a lawn already in good shape, owners get on well with it.

Lawns with weeds, dandelions or rough ground are the wrong fit, and at $2,599.99 the Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD 3000 is the better buy for most big lawns at $2,799.00, with a published runtime and a stronger owner record.

What stands out

  • No RTK at all, so dense tree cover cannot break navigation
  • 15.75 inches of cutting width across two discs, among the widest here
  • Rated for 0.87 acres, the second largest coverage in our ten
  • Cuts from 1 to 4 inches, the full range most lawns need
  • Quoted at 8,611 sq ft per hour, so a big lawn is manageable

What to watch

  • $2,599.99, and owners are not agreed that the results justify it
  • One owner reports the blades have no lift, so tall weeds get rolled over rather than cut
  • Setup on an irregular lawn described as nightmarish by the same owner
  • Mapping app criticized by a second owner for struggling to understand his yard
  • Listed item weight of 26.4 lbs cannot be right for a machine this size

Buy it if

You have up to 0.87 acres under mature trees where an RTK antenna would never hold a signal, and your lawn is already in good condition.

Skip it if

Your lawn has tall weeds, dandelions or an irregular, bumpy perimeter. Both of the critical reviews here are about exactly that situation.

Questions people ask

Does the DREAME A3 AWD Pro need a satellite signal?

No. DREAME markets it as wire free with no RTK, navigating on LiDAR and two AI cameras. gjford, writing on 12 July 2026, moved to it after a premium non LiDAR machine managed only minimal success on a property with raised beds, curved borders and mature trees, and rated the DREAME five stars.

Will it cut tall weeds and dandelions?

Not according to one detailed account. CLib, on 6 May 2026, rated it one star and reports it rolls over tall weeds and dandelions because the small cutting blades underneath have no lift. Robot mowers across the category are maintainers rather than catch up mowers.

How big a lawn does it handle?

DREAME rates 0.87 acres and quotes a work rate of 8,611 sq ft per hour, so roughly four and a half hours of mowing for a full 0.87 acre lawn, spread across charges.

How steep can it go?

DREAME quotes 38.7 degrees on four driven wheels, which works out at roughly 80 percent, matching the Mammotion figures.

Why does the listed weight look wrong?

Because 26.4 lbs is implausible for a four wheel drive mower with a 15.8 inch dual disc deck. The similarly sized Mammotion LUBA 3 is listed at 53.5 lbs. We have flagged the field rather than substitute a number we cannot source.
