ANTHBOT M5 Review

The Robot Mower for Small Yards That Needs a Plan

The ANTHBOT M5 is a 21.6 lb LiDAR robot mower for 1/8 acre lawns at $799.00, quoted at 58 dB or less and rated for 45 percent slopes. Owners report about an hour of runtime and excellent support, and the limit to understand first is that it holds only one map.

The verdict

At 21.6 lbs the ANTHBOT M5 is the second lightest robot mower in our ten, and at $799.00 it is the second cheapest. For one small lawn the combination is appealing, and owners rate it 4.3 stars.

One limit decides whether the M5 suits you, and it is not on the spec sheet.

One map means one lawn

Mary, writing on 14 July 2026, titled her review around having complied with all the constraints, which tells you most of what you need to know. Her first point is the important one. The M5 will only do either the front or the back of her property, because it can carry just one map and her areas are separated by a fence. Within that map she can mark out several zones for easy mowing.

Worth checking against your own layout before buying. A single open lawn is fine. A front and a back split by a gate means picking one, or carrying the mower through and remapping. Compare the MOVA LiDAX Ultra 1000 at $999.00, which stores two maps and up to 150 zones.

Mary is happy with the outcome. Running the mower, she says, is pure joy, and she no longer has to get out in 90 degree sun.

LiDAR plus dual cameras handle the navigating, with automatic mapping and resume. No RTK antenna needs siting, which removes the failure that owners of satellite guided machines report most often across this whole category.

Slopes are rated at 45 percent and cutting height runs 1.2 to 2.8 inches, adjusted in the app. Cutting width is 7.9 inches, normal for a small robot and about a third of what a push mower covers.

Runtime, and the numbers ANTHBOT does not publish

Battery capacity and runtime are both missing from the listing. An owner posting as v, on 19 September 2026, reports battery life of about an hour and describes it as marginal, which is the only figure available for this machine.

Missing battery specs are the norm in this category rather than the exception. Nine of our ten listings leave out capacity, and nine leave out runtime. Treat any robot mower spec sheet with suspicion until you can find both.

Support looks like a real strength

The same owner, v, had an unlucky start. His first unit had WiFi and charging issues. ANTHBOT support troubleshot the problem and then exchanged the device directly rather than sending him back through Amazon, and the replacement works fine. He describes the support as outstanding and still rates the product four stars.

Going by what owners of competing machines report about weekday only phone lines and week long delays, direct replacement inside a few days stands out.

Read the rating count carefully

4.3 stars from 183 ratings looks solid for a new category. Two things complicate it.

The same 183 count appears on a different ANTHBOT listing priced at $689.99, so the number is pooled across bundles. More awkwardly, the reviews themselves carry set labels like M5 Lidar+Garage and 04Garage. A three star review from Alex on 21 September 2026 is entirely about the garage accessory, which he calls expensive for a big piece of plastic with a hinge. Nothing in that review concerns the mower, yet it drags the mower average down.

Vicky C, on 12 July 2026, gives a short and useful four star verdict on the machine itself. She loves it, there are a few uneven spots it can struggle with, and it reduces the yard work.

Who should buy it

Owners of one small, reasonably level lawn who want the lightest and quietest option under $800.00. Carrying it is easy, running it early will not wake anyone, and the support record is better than most.

Anyone with two separate lawns should spend the extra $200.00 on the MOVA LiDAX Ultra 1000 for its second map.

Buy it if

You have one small lawn, you want the lightest quiet option, and you would rather have LiDAR than a satellite antenna at this price.

Skip it if

Your front and back lawns are separated by a fence or a gate. One map means one lawn, and the MOVA LiDAX Ultra 1000 holds two for $200.00 more.

Questions people ask

Can the ANTHBOT M5 mow both a front and a back lawn?

Not if they are separated. Mary, writing on 14 July 2026, found it will only do either the front or the back, because it carries one map and her areas are split by a fence. Within that single map she can mark out several zones.

How long does it run per charge?

About an hour, according to an owner posting as v on 19 September 2026. ANTHBOT publishes neither battery capacity nor a runtime figure on the listing, so that owner report is the only number available.

What happens if it arrives faulty?

One owner reports the process going well. Writing on 19 September 2026, v had a unit with WiFi and charging problems, ANTHBOT support troubleshot it and then exchanged the device directly, and the replacement works fine. He called the support outstanding while rating the mower four stars.

Is it quiet?

ANTHBOT quotes 58 dB or less, which is among the quietest figures in the category and roughly the level of normal conversation. Robot mowers are generally much quieter than gas mowers because the blades are small.

Why should I not trust the 183 rating count?

Because it is pooled. The same 183 ratings appear on a second ANTHBOT listing at $689.99, and the reviews carry labels like Set name M5 Lidar+Garage. One three star review on this listing, from Alex on 21 September 2026, is about a garage accessory he calls a big piece of plastic with a hinge, not about the mower.
